Automated systems for submersible pump control Potential-01 (Packaged devices type KTPPN) Mini substations for submersible pumps series Potential-01 (type KTPPN) are intended for supplying electric power, controlling and protecting 16 to 250 kW electric motors of submersible pumps for extracting oil from single wells.

Device functions:

  • switching on and off the submersible electric motor;
  • pump unit operation in the following modes: stop (switching on prohibited), manual (continuous duty without repeated switching on of the submersible electric motor when any protection is triggered), automatic (continuous duty with repeated switching on of the submersible electric motor when any protection is triggered ), and automatic by a preset time program (timer-driven periodic duty).

Automated systems for submersible pump control Potential-02 (Package devices type KUPNA) The packaged device for controlling a submersible pump unit (KUPNA) is intended for controlling and protecting 125 to 1,000 kW submersible pump units for pumping formation liquid into oil horizons, as well as for pumping formation liquid out of a formation .
Automated submersible pump control systems (packaged devices KUPNA-83 and KUPNA-700)  were developed jointly with OJSC UKRELEKTROAPPARAT, city of Khmel’nytskyi. The basic control, measurement and indication functions of the device are defined by using a universal control unit BRG3-05, BRG3-06, BRG3-07, and BRG7-07.
Device functions:

  • switching on and off the submersible electric motor;
  • pump unit operation in the following modes: stop (switching on prohibited), manual (continuous duty without repeated switching on of the submersible electric motor when any protection is triggered), automatic (continuous duty with repeated switching on of the submersible electric motor when any protection is triggered ), and automatic by a preset time program (timer-driven periodic duty)
  • option of separate protection setting in the field.

Automated control systems for submersible pumps "Potentsial-03" (ShGS 5805-type complete devices)Designed to control and protect submersible electric oil extraction pumps equipped with 16-320 kW electric motors of PED series, to switch a three-phase mains supply of the power transformer of TMPN series to a group of winding connections Y/Y0-0 of 380V LV voltage, 50 Hz frequency and 250(400)A rated current under normal conditions and switch off the mains supply from the transformer when the parameters controlled by the device are above or below the preset values using the protection settings on both power supply failures, load and process information.

Device functions:
• Low-side current and voltage measurements;
• Local and (or) remote control via RS-485 interface;
• Archiving of working parameters and status changes of the pumping unit: current value record of the controlled parameters using a variation calculation algorithm;
• Information readout using a non-volatile (battery-free) device (readout volume up to 16 stations);
• Operator interface (keypad - indicator - algorithm) having an alphanumeric menu tree enabling to efficiently manage and monitor the operation of the unit;
• Protection against unauthorized access to the input and alteration of the set parameters: two-level password system, wireless electronic key access.

Submersible electric motors control and protection unit BRG3-07 is designed to collect information about the state of the submersible electric motor as well as to process collected information and to act in given operation mode with switching unit of control and protection devices of submersible centrifugal pumps for oil production, water depression, plants of local water pumping and submersible electric centrifugal pumps for oil production.
Device functions:
• guidance and control of pump unit electric motor operation
• protection and control of electric motor operation parameters;
• ability to perform setup and adjustment on-site;
• switch-on lockup if voltage is applied to phase sequence violation;
• automatic appearance of alarm and diagnostics reports;
• automatic journal recording of plant operation modes and settings changing history with date, time, setting or mode denomination, new input parameter value saving as well as information about way of change performance (from the plant control unit keyboard or according to the command from the telemechanics system via adapter module) into the build-in non-removable nonvolatile ring buffer;
• automatic recording of  ten last motor start-ups current values
• ability to view graphs of starting currents and other plant’ electrical parameters during last switches after the information transfer to the personal computer; 
• automatic recording of continuously monitored current parameters to the build-in non-removable nonvolatile memory module (electronic recorder) at the moments of any of the monitored parameters change (current, voltage, etc.). Application of such record method comparing to the record with fixed time discrecity permits to significantly increase the time period for which it is possible to save the current settings chronology in a given amount of memory;
• ability to reset the protection settings current values ​​up to accept the default (factory default settings);

          Collected information about plant’ operation can be read by reading module MSD1-08 with following transfer to the computer for storage and further processing.

“Potential” electronic control units (BRGZ-05, BRGZ-06, BRGZ-07, BRGZ-07 types), controllers

Universal units are intended for control, measurement, indication of the current parameters in automatic control systems of “Potential-01” type (KTPPN type), “Potential-02” (KUPNA type), “Potential-03” (ShGS 5805 type) . BRG2-02, BRG2-04, BRG3-05, BRG3-06 control units, they are intended for collection of state information of electric submersible motor, processing of the received information and operating the switching unit for control and protection devices submersible centrifugal pumps for oil extraction in a preset mode, water depression, formation water pumps and submersible centrifugal electric pumps for oil extraction.
Control and protection unit of BRG3-05 electric submersible motors was withdrawn from production. Instead the control and protection unit of BRG3-07 electric submersible motors with improved technical characteristics, extended capacities, based on modern element basis is being manufactured.
